How to Accept your award on CUNYfirst:

  1. Login to your CUNYfirst account
  2. Select Student Center from left menu
  3. In the Finances section, click the  Accept/Decline Awards link
  4. Select Financial Aid Year 2021
    1. To Accept: Federal Work- Study award, Log on to your CUNYfirst account, use the student service center tab and click accept to claim your award.
    2. To Decline: Log on to your CUNYfirst account, use the student service center tab and click Decline.

***Carefully consider your award being terminated; it cannot be undone***

You are required to make an appointment to speak with the Federal Work Study Coordinator on all matters related to federal work study. 

During Placement Periods you can make an appointment using the hyperlink below:

During non-placement periods, please contact the FWS Coordinator at federalworkstudy@jjay.cuny.edu to schedule an appointment. 

During these scheduled appointments you will fill out all necessary  contract paperwork  and receive further instructions on step 2 or submit contract paperwork (See FWS Intake Process Handout for more information). A referral will be given if the Federal Work Study Coordinator is located at the Jay express counter.

New Federal Work Study (FWS) Student

Click here if:

  1. You never worked Federal Work Study (FWS) before.
  2. This will be your first time working FWS at John Jay College.

All FWS students are required to attend the FWS Orientation with the Center for Career & Professional Development before interviewing with the department or agency of interest. Check for availability and register online here.

Continuing FWS Students
