Freedom of Information Law Requests:
To request records maintained by John Jay College pursuant to New York State’s Freedom of Information Law, email the request to LegalCounsel@jjay.cuny.edu with “FOIL Request” and the requestor’s name in the subject line. Please describe the records being requested in as much detail as possible.

Subpoenas:
Subpoenas must be personally served pursuant to the New York C.P.L.R. at the below address, unless it is an information subpoena. Information subpoenas must be mailed via certified mail to the below address.

Additionally, to ensure receipt, particularly at during the pandemic when there are limited staff members on campus, please email courtesy copies of subpoenas to LegalCounsel@jjay.cuny,edu with “Subpoena” and the case name in the subject line.
Note that NYS civil subpoenas duces tecum must be “so ordered” by a court.
