“Since moving to NYC from Rochester, NY back in 2012, John Jay has been my home for the last eight years. The courses in the grad program are intriguing and engaging; students have a wonderful opportunity to work in new facilities and study under professionals who have made many contributions to the scientific community and forensic science field. I'm currently doing research in forensic anthropology and forensic entomology. Through the mentorship of the renowned faculty, and with the support of my fellow Bloodhounds, I am following my dreams of becoming a forensic anthropologist.”

“Choosing John Jay to pursue my master’s in Forensic Science was one of the easiest decisions I’ve ever made. John Jay just felt right. The esteemed faculty is so knowledgeable, and they make lectures enjoyable. I’m excited to be following the molecular biology/genetics track, especially with all the new advancements in the post-genomic era and their application to forensic science. With each lecture and lab, I know I made the right choice for my career.”

“John Jay has been a place filled with welcoming professors and students. In Summer 2016, I graduated from Queens College as a chemistry and sociology major. I have dreamt about becoming a student at John Jay and pursuing my future career as a forensic scientist for many years. As a first-generation student, this opportunity has been a once in a lifetime blessing that was once just an imagination. While at John Jay, I pursued a toxicology and criminalistics track. Upon completion of my degree, I was hired to work at the NYPD Police Lab just six months after graduating. My experience at John Jay has truly molded and prepared me for this opportunity.”

Jasmine Gayle is currently employed at the NYPD Police Lab as a criminalist.
